FAQ'S Concerning Insurance

Do you take my insurance? While it is impossible to list all the insurance plans that our office will submit on your behalf, our insurance coordinator will gladly verify your insurance coverage. In order to provide you with your maximum dental benefits, we request that you provide us with a copy of your dental card and/or insurance form prior to your first appointment.

Why didn't my insurance company cover everything? If you receive communication from the third-party payer suggesting that the fees are over and above the usual and customary rate for the services provided. Please be aware that the third-party payer's fees data may be out-of-date or the maximum that your employer has contracted for. It may not take into account factors pertaining to our locale. If you believe the dental benefits provided by your plan are inadequate, you may want to discuss the matter with your employer, union or association so appropriate alternatives can be investigated.

I have two insurances, why do I still have a balance? Often both Insurance companies have deductibles and coordination of benefit provisions which must be taken into consideration. Please realize secondary insurance claims can only be submitted after the primary insurance has paid their portion.

Why do I have a balance if I paid my co-pay at the time of service? While we do our best to predetermine what your benefits are, there are times that the insurance company will pay more or less than we anticipated. In such instances you may receive a bill for the balance or a refund check for the amount you might have overpaid.

I don't understand my balance... Our insurance coordinator will be happy to review your account with you. You can contact her by phone or e-mail.

Don't Forget to Floss!

Clean between teeth daily with floss or an interdental cleaner. Decay-causing bacteria can hid between teeth where toothbrush bristles can't reach. Flossing helps remove plaque and food particles from between teeth and under the gum line.

Visit Our Office Regularly!

Take good care of your smile. Remember to visit the dentist regularly for professional cleanings and oral exams.

Mouthwash Is Important, Too!

Brushing and flossing may not be enough. The ADA now recommends using an antimicrobial mouthwash to reduce plaque and prevent gingivitis.
